Join Us September 8th to Talk Animal Welfare

Animal welfare continues to be an important topic among consumers and protein industry professionals alike. As a continuation of the Cargill Meat Solutions Leadership Series, Cargill Beef and Cargill Turkey will be hosting a webinar on September 8, 2016 at 10:00 AM CT to share their views on the matter. The program will include emerging issues around animal welfare for both the turkey and beef industries, while discussing how Cargill addresses animal welfare within its protein businesses.

Animal StewardshipSpecial guest, Dr. Candace Croney, Director of the Center for Animal Welfare Science at Purdue University, will be joining the conversation to share global animal welfare views and consumer insights.

Leading the conversation from Cargill will be Dr. Mike Siemens, Head of Animal Welfare and Husbandry, along with Dr. Brian Wooming, Senior Staff Veterinarian. Together, these animal handling experts will share Cargill’s “outside in” approach to animal welfare, including how they engage with key stakeholders and leading animal welfare advocates. They will also discuss specific actions Cargill is taking to address animal welfare concerns around both turkey and beef.
